Jason A. Wagner
Mr. Wagner has served as the Director of Bands since the begining of the 2006-2007 school year. He is an active member in the United States Army Reserves and performs with the 100th Division (OS) Band out of Ft. Knox, Ky. Mr. Wagner graduated Northern Kentucky University in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Music Education and received many awards while working towards his degree. Such awards include: Corbett Scholar, Cincinnati Symphony Scholar, and being awarded a membership in the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. During the Summer of 2009, Mr. Wagner completed his Master's Degree at NKU in Instructional Leadership.
David Owens
A native of Corbin, KY, Mr. Owens graduated from South Laurel High School in London, KY in 1997. He has earned a Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky and a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Xavier University in 2007. Mr. Owens joined the Beechwood High School Music Faculty in 2003 serving as the Director of Bands. In 2009, Mr. Owens was selected to be the Director of Bands at Grant County High School in Dry Ridge, KY. This is Mr. Owens' first year working with the DHS Marching Band. Mr. Owens resides in Boone County with his wife Joann and his young son Grant.
Mark Kersting
This is Mr. Kersting's first official year working with the Dayton High School Band program, but has spent some time over the last three years as a consultant to Mr. Wagner on various items and concerns. Mr. Kersting marched in the Star of Indiana Drum Corps, as well as the corps off-shoot production company BLAST! He toured throughout the U.S. and Europe with BLAST! in the 90s as a trombone player. More recently, Mr. Kersting serves as a Specialist in the United States Army Reserve, performing and arranging music with the 100th Army Band's Rock Ensemble and Ceremonial Band. Mr. Kersting also worked as the Director of Band programs for Kentucky Wesleyan University, and is credited with the revival of the music program there. Mr. Kersting resides in the Louisville, KY area with his wife Jenny and son Matthew.
Michael Bishop
A former graduate of Dayton High School, Mr. Bishop is serving in his first year of instructing the Brass section for the Dayton High School Band. Michael, a Euphonium student at Center College, studies with Mr. Vincent DiMartino. As a student at DHS, he attended the Morehead State University Honor Band Clinic four times and served as section leader and Drum Major before he graduated.
Stephanie Webster
Stephanie is a grduate of Boyle County High School, in Danville, KY. As a member of the three time State Championship Boyle County High School Band, she participated in both Color Guard and the Winter Guard Programs. Stephanie has spent time not only working with the Color Guard at Pulaski County High School, but has also judged Color Guard at KMEA sanctioned events. Stephanie currently resides in Florence, KY.
